Description

  • Design, configure, implement, install, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure in an O&M plant environment.
  • Maintain and optimize networking systems to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable performance.
  • Implement cybersecurity principles and best practices to protect IT and OT environments and support compliance.
  • Monitor traditional, cellular, and satellite network performance, capacity, and security, and resolve issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, procedures, configurations, system changes, and issue resolutions.
  • Configure and implement routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and security protocols.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical employees, project teams, and management.
  • Update IT ticketing and project management systems with detailed task and resolution notes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, ISPs, and stakeholders to deliver network solutions that meet business needs.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and implementation when needed.
  • Participate in vendor selection and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on network engineer experience.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification required.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols including IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS.
  • Strong knowledge of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
  • Experience with network hardware such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Cradlepoint, and Starlink.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark.
  • Practical knowledge of LANs, firewalls, routers, switches, access points, cybersecurity, and site safety practices.
  • Strong understanding of cellular and satellite devices.
  • Excellent time management, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 50%.
  • Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • CCIE and/or CISSP highly preferred.
  • Must complete a pre-placement background check, drug screen, and physical.
