Description

  • Submit, track, and follow up on prior authorization requests with insurance companies.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and healthcare facilities, including documentation and follow-up.
  • Answer patient phone calls, return callbacks, and handle appointment-related and clinical inquiries professionally.
  • Process electronic medication refill requests and provide clinical administrative support.
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments and send appointment reminders by phone and text.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and assist with insurance-related documentation and inquiries.
  • Send and receive faxes, clinical documents, and other administrative correspondence.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, specialists, and insurance companies while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Monitor pending authorizations and referral status and provide updates to providers and staff.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Previous healthcare or clinical experience is required.
  • Experience with prior authorizations is required.
  • Experience with referrals and insurance verification is required.
  • HIPAA training and compliance knowledge is required.
  • Experience handling medication refills is preferred.
  • Previous virtual assistant experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare workflows is required.
  • Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly.
  • Must be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding.
  • Must be available for video meetings with camera on when needed.
  • Must have a reliable laptop or desktop computer, high-speed internet of at least 25 Mbps, a noise-canceling headset, webcam, and a quiet professional workspace.
