Description

  • Convert referrals and patient inquiries into scheduled appointments by making outbound follow-up calls.
  • Manage high-volume inbound patient calls about test results, medication updates, prescription concerns, appointments, and general medical questions.
  • Document patient interactions accurately in the EHR system and route messages to providers when needed.
  • Coordinate diagnostic orders with hospitals, imaging centers, and other diagnostic facilities by retrieving and sending required chart documentation.
  • Communicate appropriate test results to patients and close related tasks in the chart after documenting the discussion.
  • Review medication records, confirm prescription status, contact pharmacies for clarification, and help cancel outdated prescriptions when necessary.
  • Assess symptom-related calls to determine whether to schedule an appointment, send a provider message, or escalate urgent concerns.
  • Follow up on missed calls and voicemail messages by calling patients back or sending text responses through the clinic’s messaging system.
  • Work closely with patients, hospitals, pharmacies, and diagnostic centers to keep clinic workflows moving efficiently.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, medical office support, or remote clinical call handling.
  • Experience working in a gastroenterology clinic or similar specialty practice is preferred.
  • Background in medical assisting, nursing, or clinical support is preferred.
  • Experience with patient scheduling or clinical call triage is preferred.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and handling high call volumes in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency with iPhone, AllWorx, Modernizing Medicine GI, Clara AI, PanOptics, and Microsoft Teams is preferred.
  • Strong English speaking and writing skills are required.
  • Spanish-English bilingual ability is a plus, but strong English communication is required.
  • Ability to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding is mandatory.
  • Reliable laptop or desktop computer, high-speed internet of at least 10 Mbps, noise-canceling headset, webcam, and a quiet professional workspace are required.
