Description

  • Process and manage medical billing activities for the practice.
  • Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims.
  • Investigate unpaid, denied, or delayed claims and support revenue recovery efforts.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before appointments.
  • Coordinate provider credentialing with insurance payers and maintain related records.
  • Conduct follow-up calls for missed appointments and no-shows, and re-engage inactive patients.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and manage inbound and outbound patient communications.
  • Update patient records in the EMR and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and provide back-office administrative support as needed.

Requirements

  • Medical billing experience is required.
  • Previous healthcare administration or medical office experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with insurance verification and provider credentialing is highly preferred.
  • Experience working as a Virtual Assistant is preferred.
  • Medical degree or healthcare-related education is preferred but not required.
  • Active medical license such as RN, PT, or Physician is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in behavioral health, healthcare administration, nursing, or medical office operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Tebra EMR/EHR systems is a plus.
  • Strong medical billing, claims management, and denials follow-up experience is required.
  • Proficiency with RingCentral or similar communication systems and ability to learn new healthcare software quickly.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills, strong communication, organization, multitasking, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding.
  • Must be available for video meetings with camera on when needed.
  • Reliable laptop or desktop computer, high-speed internet of at least 25 Mbps, noise-canceling headset, webcam, and quiet professional workspace are required.
