Description

  • Process and submit dental, orthodontic, and oral surgery insurance claims accurately and on time.
  • Review unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and prepare appeals when needed.
  • Monitor claim status and follow up with insurance companies until claims are resolved.
  • Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage limits, deductibles, and copays before treatment.
  • Maintain accurate billing documentation, patient financial records, and insurance communication logs.
  • Answer overflow inbound calls, assist with scheduling, and route patient inquiries appropriately.
  • Support front desk operations during high patient volume and provide professional patient service.
  • Assist with billing questions, account inquiries, and other administrative tasks across two office locations.
  • Collaborate with in-office staff and participate in cross-training to support multiple workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of dental billing experience.
  • Orthodontic billing experience is required.
  • Oral surgery billing experience is strongly preferred and considered a must-have.
  • Experience with insurance claim submissions, follow-up, appeals, denials, and insurance verification.
  • Experience working with Denti-Cal (California Medicaid) is highly preferred.
  • Native or fluent bilingual English/Spanish speaker, with approximately 50–60% of patients being Spanish-speaking.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with supporting multiple office locations.
  • Must speak and write English clearly and professionally.
  • Must have relevant work experience.
  • Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding.
  • Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.
  • Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
  • Stable high-speed internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps.
  • Noise-canceling headset and working webcam.
  • Quiet and professional workspace.
  • Experience with Cloud 9 is preferred, with training provided if needed.
  • Experience with OpenDental, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, WhatsApp, Skype, Zoom Meetings, Google Meet, or Google Chat is preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary of $5.00–$6.00 USD per hour, depending on experience.
  • Full-time schedule of 40+ hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday schedule, 9:30 AM–6:30 PM Pacific Time, with a 1-hour unpaid break.
