Description

  • Manage and optimize month-end and year-end close processes to improve cycle time and accuracy.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs, identify bottlenecks, and streamline reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting timelines.
  • Prepare, review, and validate journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Apply accounting principles with automated checks and anomaly detection to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Design and refine workflows that produce consistent and audit-ready financial data.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to improve reporting quality through automated variance analysis, trend identification, and predictive insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reports are clear, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Evaluate AI tools, build use cases, and support implementation of AI in financial reporting processes.
  • Work with data teams to structure financial data for machine learning applications and improve reporting frameworks through automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
  • 2–7 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit roles.
  • Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with journal entries, accruals, and financial adjustments.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or data analytics in finance is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in process automation or finance transformation initiatives is preferred.
  • Understanding of data structures, SQL, or Python for financial analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to translate accounting requirements into scalable AI-driven solutions is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for working with finance, technology, and business teams.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $100–$120 per hour.
  • Part-time contract role with a 20-hour-per-week commitment.
  • Remote work available in the US, UK, Canada, France, and Portugal.
