Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications, reporting, analytics, and data products.
  • Apply 3NF principles to create normalized relational structures that minimize redundancy and preserve data integrity.
  • Develop dimensional models, including star and snowflake schemas, facts, dimensions, and hierarchies, for BI and analytical reporting.
  • Design and optimize data warehouse structures for efficient data integration, storage, transformation, and retrieval.
  • Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries to validate models, resolve data issues, and improve performance.
  • Translate business requirements, reporting needs, and data relationships into effective modeling solutions.
  • Establish data modeling standards, naming conventions, documentation, metadata, and best practices.
  • Partner with data engineering and ETL/ELT teams to implement models across enterprise data platforms.
  • Evaluate existing data architectures and recommend improvements to scalability, performance, data quality, and maintainability.
  • Lead design discussions and model reviews, provide technical guidance, and support data governance and master data management initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in data modeling or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with 3NF modeling and relational database design.
  • Expertise in dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, architecture, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in SQL, database structures, data relationships, and query optimization.
  • Experience translating complex business requirements into scalable enterprise data models.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other enterprise cloud data platforms (preferred).
  • Hands-on knowledge of ERWin or ER/Studio data modeling tools (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, SAP data environments, ETL/ELT, data integration, metadata management, and data governance (preferred).
