Description

  • Lead architecture discussions with client stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Design enterprise data platform architectures using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and cloud data engineering technologies.
  • Facilitate technical discovery, workshops, architecture reviews, and target-state solution design.
  • Develop, validate, and review data engineering solutions using SQL, Python/PySpark, Apache Airflow, and dbt Core.
  • Define ingestion pipeline standards for APIs, databases, files, and cloud sources using Lakeflow Connect and Auto Loader.
  • Design and implement Medallion Architecture data layers and curated data products.
  • Establish governance, access control, lineage, semantic modeling, and discoverability practices using Unity Catalog.
  • Review architecture, code, data models, and pipelines for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Guide CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, deployment, data quality, and operational reliability practices.
  • Provide technical direction to distributed teams and communicate architectural decisions, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related technical roles delivering production-grade data platforms.
  • Experience in a client-facing technical role, such as Data Architect, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, or Lead Data Engineer.
  • Hands-on expertise designing scalable enterprise data solutions with Azure Databricks.
  • Deep knowledge of Delta Lake data management, processing patterns, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Unity Catalog, including governance, access controls, lineage, and enterprise data management.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark for data processing, transformation, and pipeline development.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and dbt Core.
  • Experience designing ingestion pipelines for APIs, relational databases, files, and other enterprise sources, including Lakeflow Connect and Auto Loader.
  • Knowledge of Medallion Architecture, data products, semantic modeling, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and production pipeline management.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and communicate trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with distributed engineering teams or external technology partners; familiarity with AI-assisted and spec-driven development practices.

Benefits
