Description

  • Lead architecture, assessment, and modernization engagements for enterprise Snowflake data platforms.
  • Define current-state and target-state architectures for ingestion, transformation, storage, orchestration, governance, security, and data consumption.
  • Assess Python, SQL, and stored-procedure pipelines and analyze Snowflake telemetry for workload, cost, and performance baselines.
  • Identify platform anti-patterns and recommend modernization approaches using incremental processing, Dynamic Tables, Streams and Tasks, Snowpark, dbt, and orchestration tools.
  • Design scalable data models, governed domains, semantic layers, context models, and Snowflake Cortex solutions for analytics and AI use cases.
  • Establish standards for security, access control, lineage, observability, performance, resilience, and business continuity.
  • Design lakehouse and real-time data-processing architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including open architecture patterns such as Iceberg Tables.
  • Build prioritized optimization backlogs and delivery roadmaps based on business impact, risk, cost, performance, and effort.
  • Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary delivery teams and support planning, estimation, scope, dependencies, risks, and technical governance.
  • Lead client discovery workshops, present architecture recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders, and maintain architecture documentation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a comparable senior technical role.
  • 2–4 years of deep Snowflake architecture and implementation experience, including enterprise platform modernization.
  • Expert SQL and strong Python skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, Streams and Tasks, stored procedures, and Snowflake system usage views.
  • Experience with dbt and pipeline or orchestration tools such as Fivetran, Kafka, or Airflow.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake environment design, data modeling, workload management, security, governance, and cost and performance optimization.
  • Experience designing batch, streaming, lakehouse, and cloud-native data architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with data governance, access control, lineage, data quality, and metadata management.
  • Proven ability to lead client-facing discovery, assessment, architecture, and modernization engagements and guide Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical concepts to engineers, business leaders, and executive sponsors.
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex, governed semantic/context layers, Iceberg Tables, Terraform, CI/CD, FinOps, disaster recovery, SnowPro certification, or consulting delivery experience (preferred).
