Description

  • Own and operate the live ops events and content pipeline end to end, including planning, briefing, production tracking, reviews, integration coordination, and release readiness.
  • Steward and evolve VRChat’s creative strategy for live ops content while maintaining style continuity, quality, and cohesion.
  • Partner with the Director of Design and Art Team Manager to align on creative direction, review norms, and quality standards.
  • Lead and support the internal art team through clear goals, constructive critique, and sustainable production practices.
  • Run external studio collaboration with strong briefs, fast feedback loops, clear acceptance criteria, and healthy partner relationships.
  • Work closely with engineering to translate creative goals into performant, shippable assets and integrations.
  • Improve documentation, templates, review checklists, and lightweight processes to reduce rework and increase throughput.
  • Keep stakeholders aligned by making tradeoffs visible and driving clarity across creative teams and partners.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in game development or real-time content production.
  • Meaningful experience shipping ongoing content such as live ops, events, seasonal drops, or frequent updates.
  • Experience working in collaborative environments where influence and alignment matter more than top-down hierarchy.
  • Strong experience working with external studios and vendors.
  • Ability to build systems and repeatable decision-making frameworks, not rely on taste alone.
  • Comfort partnering with engineering and production to ensure assets are performant and shippable.
  • Ability to translate technical and production constraints into clear guidance for creative teams.
  • Low-ego, high-agency communication style with strong listening, alignment, and execution skills.
  • Bonus: experience scaling an art/content pipeline across multiple platforms.
  • Bonus: familiarity with UGC ecosystems, social platforms, creator-driven content economies, Jira or Linear, and operational metrics such as rework rate, cycle time, and acceptance rate.
