Description

  • Develop and maintain device software and firmware for Voltus’s IoT fleet.
  • Design and improve cloud architecture for receiving data from and managing thousands of devices.
  • Build and maintain fleet management and remote connectivity solutions.
  • Implement remote software update capabilities.
  • Own uptime, reliability, and quality across the device fleet.
  • Collaborate with customers, field support, manufacturing, assembly, and internal development teams to identify improvements.
  • Contribute to hardware and firmware development involving connected energy devices.
  • Work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders and contribute to agile engineering practices.
  • Help advance an open, collaborative, and psychologically safe engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a code-contributing engineer.
  • Production software development experience with Python, Go, or a similar high-level language.
  • Experience with AWS and PostgreSQL or a similar relational database.
  • Proven knowledge of Linux-based systems.
  • Basic knowledge of and interest in electronics and electrical systems, such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino technologies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and force-multiplier skills.
  • Interest in learning about the energy industry and complex distributed systems.
  • Experience with or willingness to develop skills in agile methodologies.
  • Experience with technologies such as Docker, HashiCorp tools, FastAPI, Temporal, Delta Lake, ClickHouse, TypeScript, or React is beneficial.
  • Authorization to work in the US or Canada without visa sponsorship or transfer.
  • A GitHub account link is required in the application.
