Description

  • Conduct technical discovery to understand customer pain points, architectures, and desired outcomes.
  • Design tailored streaming architectures aligned with customer data environments.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and lead proofs of concept tied to measurable success criteria.
  • Provide technical validation throughout the sales cycle, from initial engagement through close.
  • Own technical content for RFPs, security and architecture reviews, and executive briefings.
  • Share customer insights with Product and Engineering to influence the platform roadmap.
  • Create reusable demo assets, reference architectures, and enablement materials.
  • Partner with Customer Success to support handoff and successful production adoption.
  • Represent Ververica in the Apache Flink community and at events, meetups, and webinars.
  • Monitor developments in streaming, data, and AI to improve platform positioning.

Requirements

  • Experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Solutions Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
  • Hands-on familiarity with streaming architectures, distributed data processing, data pipelines, or analytics platforms.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, including on-premises and BYOC deployment models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and executives.
  • Proficiency in SQL and ability to read or write code in Java, Scala, Python, or SQL-based streaming dialects.
  • Experience scoping and running proofs of concept against customer success criteria.
  • Self-directed, proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel to customers and events as needed.
  • Experience with Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, or comparable streaming technologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, open-source software, real-time AI/ML use cases, data warehouses, or lakehouse architectures preferred.
  • Experience in financial services, gaming, telecommunications, or manufacturing preferred.
