Description

  • Own accurate semi-monthly U.S. and Canadian and biweekly Quebec payroll, including commissions, bonuses, filings, registrations, budgeting, controls, and audits.
  • Personally run payroll cycles when needed and manage relationships with ADP and Rippling.
  • Lead benefits strategy, vendor management, renewals, open enrollment, employee communications, and administration.
  • Own leave programs, complex cases, policy design, and compliance across applicable U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Administer BambooHR, maintain data integrity, improve HR workflows, and ensure policies and records are audit-ready.
  • Manage payroll, benefits, and HR operations budgets and support internal and external audits and workforce reporting.
  • Maintain compensation frameworks, pay bands, job classifications, benchmarking, and annual compensation cycles.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the payroll and People & Culture operations team.
  • Partner with Finance, HR Business Partners, IT, and the CHRO while supporting employees with payroll, benefits, leave, and compensation matters.
  • Use AI tools for analysis, modeling, drafting, reporting, and operational problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive payroll, benefits, and HR operations experience, including multi-entity U.S./Canada operations.
  • 3–5 years of demonstrated people leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll, tax, benefits, pay equity, and pay transparency regulations; Quebec experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • PLP or CPP designation, or active progress toward one, preferred.
  • Experience owning or administering BambooHR or a similar HRIS as a technical system owner.
  • Working knowledge of compensation practices and benchmarking.
  • Experience with EOR arrangements such as Rippling and job classification/FLSA analysis preferred.
  • Daily experience using AI tools such as Claude or Copilot for research, drafting, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Strong vendor and project management, communication, organization, discretion, and ability to manage complex deadlines.
  • Ability to pass fingerprint-based CJIS background screening and maintain required security clearances.
