Description

  • Lead the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data solutions.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into scalable BI solutions.
  • Establish and maintain standards for Power BI development, data modelling, reporting definitions, dashboard design, and documentation.
  • Design and maintain data models, relationships, calculations, and measures for accurate reporting.
  • Develop and optimise DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and SQL queries.
  • Review dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions for accuracy, performance, usability, and consistency.
  • Monitor report performance, scheduled refreshes, and data dependencies to ensure reliable outputs.
  • Investigate complex data and reporting issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate reporting, reduce manual work, and automate recurring reporting activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, quality review, and documentation across reporting and data activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Power BI development, business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a similar data-focused role.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and developing complex dashboards and reporting solutions in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
  • Strong SQL capability, including extracting, analysing, validating, and troubleshooting data across multiple sources.
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable data models and structured reporting solutions.
  • Experience leading or providing technical direction on BI, reporting, or data-related projects.
  • Experience establishing or improving reporting standards, data quality practices, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex data and reporting issues.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and translate business priorities into practical technical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple reporting initiatives and competing requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership in an offshore support model aligned to Australian business hours.
