Description

  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for IBM z/OS Communication Server, including VTAM, TCP/IP, TN3270, FTP, Policy Agent, and SMTP.
  • Administer and operate the z/OS mainframe environment.
  • Use TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, and catalog management for administration and troubleshooting.
  • Execute and interpret z/OS and JES2 operator commands.
  • Develop automation and operational tooling with TSO/REXX, TSO/CLIST, or SAS.
  • Configure and support connectivity for MQ, DB2, CICS, and related middleware.
  • Support file transfer, printing, email, and messaging infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain network monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and auditing tools.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Network Services and Security Platforms teams on designs, upgrades, implementations, and verification.
  • Participate in infrastructure troubleshooting, operational improvements, modernization initiatives, and continuity activities.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Communication Server.
  • Strong knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP, TN3270, FTP, Policy Agent, and SMTP.
  • Practical experience in a z/OS mainframe environment.
  • Proficiency with TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, and z/OS catalog management.
  • Experience with z/OS and JES2 operator commands.
  • Scripting or programming experience with REXX, CLIST, or SAS.
  • Experience with MQ, DB2, CICS, middleware, file transfer, printing, and email or messaging infrastructure.
  • Ability to develop or maintain network monitoring, reporting, and operational tools.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience with Broadcom/CA NetMaster and NCL programming, PKWARE PKZip, IBM Sterling Connect:Direct, Secure Proxy technologies, disaster recovery testing, application connectivity advising, or AI concepts and tools; a related college degree is also preferred.
