Description

  • Accurately interpret live spoken conversations between callers (native language) and English-speaking operators in real time, conveying meaning and intent without omission or addition.
  • Interpret calls across a range of sectors including healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel & hospitality, 911 emergency services, law enforcement, and general business.
  • Convey messages in the caller’s preferred language and confirm/clarify information to ensure both parties understand each other.
  • Maintain a quiet, secure home office environment and protect confidentiality of sensitive information during calls.
  • Be available to work assigned rotating night shifts and follow client scheduling requirements, including shift rotations every three months.
  • Work scheduled hours (typically 8–9 hour shifts) and be willing to work on public holidays as the operation is 24/7.
  • Participate in and complete a 3-week daytime training program and apply training to live call interpretation tasks.
  • Use and maintain a personal mobile device that meets platform requirements to receive and handle assignment calls.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English (read, speak, write) and fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese (read, speak, write).
  • Based in (or able to work from) Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, or Cambodia (open to most locations within these countries).
  • Must be able to work from home and maintain a quiet, secure workspace.
  • Own a mobile phone running Android 12 or higher, or iOS 15 or higher.
  • Willing to work rotating 9-hour shifts (night shift) scheduled within a 24-hour period as required by the client; shifts rotate every 3 months.
  • Willing to work on public holidays and accept rotating weekly days off (two days per week, rotating).
  • Available to attend a 3-week daytime training program (Monday–Friday) and complete required training.
  • Comfortable handling both simple and complex/non-technical and technical subject matter across listed sectors.
  • Able to commit to a 12-month renewable contract (period of employment as specified).

Benefits

  • 12-month contract (renewable).
  • Salary RM3,000–RM5,400++ with SOCSO and EPF contributions plus overtime pay.
  • 40 hours per week (8 hours/day with 1-hour break) with night-shift scheduling and shift rotations every 3 months.
  • 14 days paid sick leave and 12 days annual leave, plus select Malaysia & US public holidays.
  • Two days off per week (rotating).
  • 3-week daytime training provided (Monday–Friday) with a training allowance.
  • Work-from-home arrangement
