Description

  • Lead the evolution of Twilio’s Core Commerce Platform into a productized, extensible platform-as-a-service.
  • Define the platform roadmap for commerce-as-a-service capabilities, including metering, rating, and entitlement APIs.
  • Design self-service tools, SDKs, and documentation that enable internal teams to onboard independently.
  • Own the event-to-invoice data lifecycle to ensure accurate usage tracking, rating, and invoicing.
  • Partner with Finance, Compliance, and Accounting to automate revenue recognition and tax compliance workflows.
  • Drive customer-facing visibility into usage and billing to improve transparency and reduce billing inquiries.
  • Translate complex financial and operational requirements into scalable technical specifications.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, Finance, GTM, and Operations to align platform guardrails and execution.
  • Embed AI capabilities into commerce workflows, such as billing optimization, anomaly detection, and automation.
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into legacy systems and technical debt to identify clear paths forward.
  • Use analytics and experimentation to prioritize initiatives and improve reliability and business outcomes.
  • Mentor other product managers on technical product discovery, communication, and execution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 4 years focused on commerce, billing, or financial platforms at scale.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives across engineering, finance, risk, and operations.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in APIs, extensible platforms, and complex system design.
  • Data-driven decision-making experience with a track record of defining KPIs and measuring platform success.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive-level stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience with SaaS, large-scale platforms, or multi-product ecosystems.
  • Deep experience with Agile and related agile tooling, such as Jira.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Previous leadership of platform migrations or unification efforts.
  • Preferred: Experience integrating billing engines with downstream financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Workday for automated revenue recognition.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with global tax engines such as Avalara or Vertex and international billing requirements like VAT and GST.
  • Preferred: Experience applying AI/ML solutions in financial or data-heavy domains.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the quote-to-cash ecosystem, including CPQ tools and core catalog integrations.
