Description

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of data engineers, including supporting career development and technical growth.
  • Own the design and development of data pipelines and data systems that can scale with company growth.
  • Implement data quality controls and SLAs to protect data trust and ensure reliable production processes.
  • Partner with Data Science and Product managers to translate business needs into well-documented data models.
  • Review code and provide technical guidance to improve ETL pipeline efficiency and schema performance.
  • Contribute hands-on to development work and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Make data reliable and accessible for stakeholders across the organization.
  • Help mature the data ecosystem during a phase of purposeful scaling.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on management experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant data engineering experience.
  • Experience growing teams through coaching and mentorship.
  • Deep familiarity with Snowflake, Airflow, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Mastery of both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or Java.
  • Expert-level SQL skills.
  • Experience scaling schemas and tuning ETL performance.
  • Extensive experience designing data warehouses and workflow systems, including owning SLAs for critical production processes.
  • Experience with Spark, Scala, or Protocol Buffers is a plus, or experience navigating FinTech regulatory challenges is preferred.
