Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management while actively contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers on the team.
  • Manage team dynamics, provide constructive feedback, and help each person do their best work.
  • Coach and guide direct reports, including supporting their career growth.
  • Redesign engineering delivery around autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives across the codebase.
  • Use tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure outputs are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them iteratively.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
  • Ambitious, intentional, and committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
  • Experience leading with a kind, people-first approach is preferred.
