Description

  • Monitor the network across IP and transmission platforms, including xWDM, and the underlying fiber infrastructure.
  • Act on alarms related to service-impacting and potential service-impacting incidents.
  • Troubleshoot faults and outages across relevant network platforms and infrastructure.
  • Resolve incidents at first line whenever possible and minimize escalation to second-level support.
  • Own incidents end to end and drive them through restoration and closure.
  • Collaborate with third-party providers such as hardware vendors, field support, and network providers during investigations and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely incident documentation, technical reporting, and post-incident records.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders during major incidents and planned maintenance.
  • Track SLA commitments, follow up on progress, and coordinate resolution across teams.
  • Prepare root cause analysis and outage reports, and act as a single point of contact during planned maintenance and outages.
  • Configure and contribute to NOC monitoring tools and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve troubleshooting practices and information sharing.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in network troubleshooting across IP and/or transmission platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, QoS, and xWDM technologies.
  • CCNP Enterprise-level knowledge for IP-focused roles, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools, incident handling, and fault management.
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external providers.
  • Experience documenting incidents and maintaining clear technical reporting.
  • Experience with scripting in Python or Bash is a plus.
  • Telecom industry background is a plus.
  • Experience configuring or improving NOC monitoring tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in an international environment is a plus.
