Description

  • Own the end-to-end success of a new business line, including revenue growth, pipeline health, and gross margin.
  • Develop market positioning, business strategy, and launch offerings for a new venture from the ground up.
  • Evaluate market and industry opportunities and prioritize the highest-potential segments.
  • Build and test new client offerings, using feedback to iterate quickly toward product-market fit.
  • Serve as the single accountable owner for the business P&L and manage supply-demand balance.
  • Partner with Executive and Senior Leadership to align the business with Toptal’s broader growth goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Talent Operations, Legal, Finance, and Sales to execute the go-to-market plan.
  • Create execution plans to ensure the right talent and solutions are available to serve client demand.
  • Work directly with clients as a trusted business partner to understand and address their business challenges.
  • Establish analytics and feedback loops to continuously refine strategy, operations, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience driving and managing a business with a strong understanding of business operations and management principles.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a business with P&L ownership.
  • Experience serving as a product leader with ownership of product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and outcomes in partnership with Engineering.
  • Experience in a professional services organization driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated success building and launching a new business or product offering from scratch, or equivalent entrepreneurial experience.
  • Experience at a technology or hyper-growth company strongly preferred.
  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or investment banking experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with marketing technology and automation, including marketing platforms, CRMs, and related tools.
  • Strong commercial acumen and command of P&L and financial metrics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building, leadership, organization, and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment and handle diverse challenges and stakeholders.
  • Must be a world-class individual contributor and able to operate hands-on, not just as a manager.
