Description

  • Design, build, deploy, and operate traffic infrastructure from the public edge through cloud networking to service-to-service routing.
  • Lead complex, multi-team projects that improve service discovery, routing, security, and observability.
  • Own the reliability of critical traffic infrastructure end to end, including on-call response, incident learning, and long-term hardening.
  • Design solutions for future scale and product needs, including multi-region support, new protocols, and evolving service-mesh patterns.
  • Partner on cloud networking, edge routing, DNS, and infrastructure-as-code automation.
  • Mentor engineers and improve developer ergonomics for service owners.
  • Lead through influence across teams to set technical direction and drive adoption of platform standards.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve development workflow, velocity, and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping and operating mission-critical production services.
  • Experience leading complex projects spanning multiple teams and presenting technical plans to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Growth mindset with a focus on improving yourself, other engineers, and the functional area.
  • Deep hands-on experience in Kotlin or another JVM language such as Java or Scala.
  • Built or operated a production service mesh such as Envoy, Istio, Linkerd, Consul Connect, or similar.
  • Managed cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with DNS and edge routing through a CDN such as Cloudflare, Cloudfront, Akamai, or Fastly.
  • Working knowledge of TLS, including termination, mTLS, and certificate lifecycle management at scale.
  • Comfort working across the networking stack and digging into different network layers.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $193,000–$309,000 USD for Zone A, $168,000–$269,000 USD for Zone B, or $151,000–$242,000 USD for Zone C.
  • Total rewards package includes cash compensation such as overtime and bonus/commissions if eligible.
