Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of a networking stack for command and control and collaborative autonomy of distributed unmanned systems.
  • Lead integration of emerging networking capabilities and bring new hardware and software products into the family of systems.
  • Decompose networking requirements across cross-functional teams and define success in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Design network layouts and configurations from complex design reference missions involving large-scale unmanned systems and forward-deployed C2 systems.
  • Design, implement, deploy, and troubleshoot networking solutions across OSI Layers 1 through 4 with strong security outcomes.
  • Own systems end to end, identify and resolve issues between system seams, and make performance tradeoffs to deliver outcomes.
  • Perform trade studies of communications and networking solutions, including government-provided technologies.
  • Build tooling for benchmarking and analyzing network traffic.
  • Analyze test network infrastructure and implement improvements to network reliability and throughput at the edge.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to build modeling, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop lab environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, enterprise network technologies, CI/CD tools, and software infrastructure fundamentals including networking, security, and distributed systems.
  • Expertise in tactical LOS and BLOS RF systems.
  • Experience with ad-hoc mesh networking, secure communication protocols such as IPSec and MACSec, software-defined networking, internet protocols such as TCP/IP and DNS, and routing protocols.
  • Understanding of empirical testing criteria using both quantitative and qualitative measures for trade studies and hardware/software analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying engineering standards to engineering processes or requirements.
  • Experience with commercial mesh networking radios.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and challenging problems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% for test field events.
  • Must currently possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with network modeling and simulation tools and frameworks (preferred).
  • Expertise in SatCom, VHF/UHF, LPI/LPD and anti-jamming, MIMO, and antenna theory (preferred).
  • Expertise in cloud networking and cybersecurity (preferred).
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with spectrum management and deconfliction (preferred).
