Description

  • Build and own the Toast Media Network end-to-end, including editorial voice, production, distribution, audience growth, and optimization.
  • Develop social- and culture-led programming that turns Toast's POV, data, and talent into operator-relevant content and fandom-building franchises.
  • Own brand social channels, creator and influencer programs, and the operator-creator ecosystem as an integrated growth system.
  • Partner with Brand Strategy and PR/Comms to shape Toast's market POV and how it is understood by the market and LLMs.
  • Design and run growth experiments across franchises, formats, channels, and AI-powered workflows to improve audience, citation share, and pipeline.
  • Create data-driven roadmaps that balance near-term authority wins with long-term media and data storytelling growth.
  • Lead flagship content franchises such as Data by Toast and newsletters from early pilots to always-on programs.
  • Track and improve measurable outcomes such as LLM citation share, citation velocity, backlinks per release, newsletter growth, and open rates.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Revenue Marketing, Web, Brand Strategy, PR/Comms, PMM, Product, Data, and IR to launch integrated programs.
  • Lead and grow a senior integrated team of 10–12 people.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in the areas below.
  • Experience building or operating a real media brand or owned media property such as a publication, newsletter, show, or platform.
  • Experience leading editorial strategy alongside modern social, influencer, and creator strategy at scale.
  • Experience driving cross-functional programs with Brand, Revenue Marketing, PR/Comms, Legal, PMM, Product, Data, and IR.
  • Experience growing and retaining audiences such as subscribers, return users, and community members, with an understanding of how to measure fandom.
  • Experience turning proprietary datasets into benchmarks, indices, and other cited intellectual property.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to operate at different levels, from deep analytics to executive-level synthesis.
  • Experience applying AI to content creation, distribution, audience discovery, and LLM visibility.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, undefined environments and building iteratively without a playbook.
  • Preferred experience in restaurants, hospitality, SMB, fintech, or adjacent operator categories.
  • Preferred familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Make, Zapier, or n8n connected to AI APIs.
  • Preferred experience with analytics platforms such as GA4, Snowflake, or HEX, and with SEO/LLM visibility tooling.
  • Preferred experience partnering with PR/Comms, IR, and executive communications at a public company.
