Description

  • Lead bi-weekly allocation performance reviews with brand planning teams across key retail KPIs.
  • Present KPI diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and action plans to internal partners and leadership.
  • Prepare quarterly business reviews that synthesize allocation trends and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor allocation outcomes using existing dashboards and alerting tools at the store-SKU level.
  • Identify emerging performance issues such as weak sell-through, misplaced inventory, and stockout patterns before they escalate.
  • Decompose KPI misses into demand-side and supply-side drivers to pinpoint actionable root causes.
  • Analyze allocation outcomes across basics, seasonal basics, and fashion product lifecycle types.
  • Translate diagnostic findings into vendor improvement tickets with clear success criteria.
  • Advise brand planning teams on allocation strategy decisions, including store eligibility, DC holdback, size curves, and replenishment throttling.
  • Own the vendor accountability framework, including RACI management, action tracking, and escalation when commitments are missed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a strategy consulting role, preferably serving retail clients.
  • Deep understanding of fashion retail allocation and replenishment processes across basics, seasonal basics, and fashion/trend products.
  • Fluency in retail KPIs such as service level, sell-through, WOS, GMROI, allocation accuracy, and markdown rate.
  • Strong analytical intuition with the ability to quickly identify anomalies and areas for deeper analysis in performance dashboards.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with comfort presenting to VP-level stakeholders and coaching junior team members.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree, or equivalent depth of experience in strategy and analytics.
  • Direct experience at a multi-brand fashion retailer such as a specialty, department store, or fast fashion company (preferred).
  • Experience that combines retailer-side operator experience with consulting or vendor-side advisory experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts used in allocation diagnostics, including forecast accuracy metrics such as MAPE and bias, variance decomposition, and demand signal analysis (preferred).
  • Experience building or managing a small team and working with contingent or contract technical resources (preferred).
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build a function from scratch.
  • Experience working with third-party allocation and planning vendors and managing vendor performance (preferred).
