Description

  • Lead the Philanthropic Advising department and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members, including senior professionals.
  • Manage staffing, resource allocation, operating processes, and departmental tools.
  • Develop the department’s strategic vision and advance learning, innovation, and thought leadership.
  • Advise philanthropic clients on strategy, program development, and impact opportunities.
  • Lead selected client engagements and ensure high-quality delivery and client experiences.
  • Cultivate prospective clients, referral partners, and philanthropic relationships.
  • Develop proposals, pursue new business, and build the philanthropy engagement pipeline.
  • Represent Third Plateau through professional networks, speaking engagements, publications, and convenings.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropy, including significant senior leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams, including senior professionals.
  • Significant experience advising philanthropists, family foundations, and other philanthropic institutions on complex strategic questions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with business development, proposal development, and converting opportunities into engagements.
  • Strong understanding of philanthropic trends, research, community needs, and effective practices.
  • Operational and financial acumen, including resource allocation and budgeting experience.
  • Deep commitment to social impact and alignment with Third Plateau’s mission and values.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred; an advanced degree or relevant certifications is a plus.

  • $260,000 annual base salary, depending on experience and skills.
