Description

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, interfaces, and technical infrastructure for the subscription platform.
  • Contribute across the software development lifecycle from planning through deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers in an agile environment to deliver features.
  • Develop and integrate third-party services to extend platform functionality and customer experience.
  • Write reliable, performant, and well-tested code that can scale with the business.
  • Improve existing systems through refactoring, performance optimization, and automation.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to uphold best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and help maintain a stable, resilient platform.
  • Explore new tools, technologies, and techniques to improve developer experience and product quality.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience building applications in a Python framework such as Django or Flask.
  • 10+ years of experience building API systems, including REST, OAuth2, JSON, and third-party integrations.
  • Experience working with a JavaScript frontend framework such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including SQL.
  • Strong technical judgment and understanding of time, maintainability, and quality trade-offs.
  • Experience writing unit tests.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git or SVN.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience using AI models and tooling such as Claude Code or Cursor.
  • Self-starter who is positive, open-minded, and excited to work on a small dedicated team.
  • Passion for using technology to streamline business processes.
  • Preferred: experience with Django.
  • Preferred: experience with React.
  • Preferred: experience with NodeJS.
  • Preferred: experience with Shopify.
  • Preferred: experience documenting with JSON Schema and OpenAPI.
  • Preferred: experience with Docker and containerization.
  • Preferred: open source community contribution.
  • Preferred: dog owner or dog lover.
  • Preferred: strong prompt-writing skills.
