Description

  • Define the technical vision and direction for the Foundations group with the Sr. Director.
  • Lead architecture for EMR integrations, caching infrastructure, shared services, APIs, and data models.
  • Own complex, multi-team initiatives from strategy and design through delivery and launch.
  • Drive reliability, performance, security, SLOs, capacity planning, and incident readiness.
  • Design caching and application-performance strategies while reducing external API dependencies.
  • Build shared libraries, SDKs, internal APIs, documentation, and integration guidelines for product teams.
  • Establish testing, observability, monitoring, and Mixpanel analytics standards tied to user and clinical outcomes.
  • Conduct design reviews, resolve complex platform issues, and lead post-incident improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering, architecture, coding, and documentation practices.

Requirements

  • Approximately 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant senior or staff-level individual-contributor experience.
  • Track record of owning and shipping multi-team projects in modern web stacks.
  • Strong full-stack capabilities across API and data-model design, user interfaces, monitoring, and metrics.
  • Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Redis.
  • Deep familiarity with a cloud provider and infrastructure as code, preferably Google Cloud Platform and Terraform.
  • Strong systems-design judgment across reliability, performance, security, and cost.
  • Excellent debugging and incident-response skills using logs, traces, and data.
  • Ability to lead technical decisions through influence in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; mentoring experience.
  • Healthcare, digital health, regulated-domain, EHR, wearable, or health-data-platform experience preferred.
