Description

  • Architect and evolve shared platform core services to support 100× growth in data volume and users.
  • Design scalable distributed systems for authentication, authorization, metadata management, data lifecycle management, operational intelligence, and real-time event processing.
  • Evolve the authorization service toward modern identity standards and fine-grained access models, including support for non-human identities.
  • Build systems that capture, enforce, and serve structured metadata through clean service contracts.
  • Develop governance primitives for regulated environments, including audit trails, dataset-level access controls, and approval or eSignature workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver infrastructure for new services, customer-facing applications, and high-volume workloads.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code to automate, standardize, and secure deployments and support online upgrades and on-demand capacity.
  • Improve observability and monitoring to strengthen reliability, cost efficiency, and incident response.
  • Champion best practices in distributed systems design, scalability, and performance through design reviews and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and scaling distributed, cloud-native backend services and platforms in production.
  • Proven experience as a technical leader or architect making decisions on system design, scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Strong API-first design experience with REST, GraphQL, and OpenAPI specifications.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python for building high-performance backend services.
  • Deep AWS experience with core services such as EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, and S3.
  • Experience with data and messaging tools such as SQS, Kinesis, Kafka, and EventBridge.
  • Expertise with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as CloudFormation and CDK.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and production deployment strategy across multiple platforms.
  • Solid understanding of observability best practices, including monitoring, alerting, distributed tracing, and SLI/SLO/SLA design.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and cross-functional teams.
