Description

  • Serve as the link between application teams and the Navy platform environment by advocating best practices and improving communication.
  • Evaluate multiple approaches to complex technical problems and identify effective solutions.
  • Apply expertise across multiple technical domains, with deep ownership of one or two core technologies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and help align technical work with mission objectives.
  • Write and maintain infrastructure as code and help build and maintain Kubernetes clusters across distributions such as EKS and RKE2.
  • Support cloud-native deployments with attention to secure coding and vulnerability remediation.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with external teams and other platform teams.
  • Work with CI/CD components, runner deployments and maintenance, UDS packaging, and process automation.
  • Mentor junior engineers through pairing and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance required to apply.
  • 5+ years of relevant platform, DevOps, or software engineering experience implied by the scope of the role.
  • Strong programming skills and deep familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Expertise in 1-2 key technologies such as full-stack application development, CI/CD, GitOps, Kubernetes, Tofu, AWS, or Go.
  • Experience working with YAML to create Kubernetes manifests, Kubernetes CRDs, and pipeline configurations.
  • Experience with security automation, API security, container security, and cloud security.
  • Experience with architecture security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience with continuous delivery, distributed architectures, systems, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team when needed, preferably in an Agile remote environment.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a DoD 8570 IAT II certification.
  • Experience working on Department of Defense production systems with an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Experience with UDS Core, Iron Bank, and/or C-ATO processes is preferred.
