Description

  • Design, deploy, and administer production Kubernetes clusters, including workload scheduling, namespace management, RBAC, network policies, and cluster upgrades.
  • Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate testing and deployment, including Kubernetes-native delivery workflows with Helm and ArgoCD or equivalent tools.
  • Troubleshoot software and infrastructure issues, track performance, and implement preventative measures to keep systems running smoothly.
  • Build, manage, and optimize infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Improve cloud efficiency by implementing cost-effective resource usage and cloud cost optimization measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments and operational readiness.
  • Monitor system performance and create or refine processes based on performance analysis.
  • Implement security best practices, including automated compliance checks and secure code deployment.
  • Set the technical roadmap and architecture for the platform while mentoring SRE and DevOps engineers.
  • Hire, coach, and manage a team of DevOps Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, including 2-3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, integrated with Kubernetes deployments.
  • Production-level infrastructure as code experience; Terraform is required, and CloudFormation or Pulumi is a plus.
  • Experience managing cloud-hosted Kubernetes clusters such as EKS, GKE, or AKS.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK/EFK, including building dashboards and alerts from scratch.
  • Demonstrated production Kubernetes administration experience, including Helm chart authoring, RBAC configuration, persistent storage, autoscaling, and resolving real outages such as CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, and networking issues.
  • Strong live troubleshooting skills under pressure without reference materials.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell, with the ability to write and own automation scripts.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
  • Experience managing and influencing others through strong communication and conflict resolution skills is preferred.
  • Experience defining a DevOps/platform roadmap aligned with business goals is preferred.
