Description

  • Lead a team of Solutions Engineering leaders supporting Federal and State & Local Government customers and prospects.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to guide the customer journey from technical discovery through adoption and expansion.
  • Own the Solutions Engineering strategy, headcount planning, and execution across the public sector portfolio.
  • Hire, onboard, motivate, and retain Solutions Engineering talent.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance management, coaching, and mentoring to develop team members.
  • Ensure technical enablement stays current and effective across the organization.
  • Use data-driven decisions to improve regional performance and drive area results.
  • Plan workload distribution, delegation, and resources based on demand and team capacity.
  • Create and manage strategic account and territory assignments within the area.
  • Champion customer and partner feedback to influence product direction, feature priorities, and innovation initiatives.
  • Lead technical pre-sales conversations, demos, and market-facing technical events.
  • Own critical sales escalations and support other regions and areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience with solid technical skills in areas such as networking, security, operations, scripting, and/or programming.
  • Demonstrated experience selling into Federal (civilian and/or DoD) and/or State & Local Government.
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes, including FAR/DFARS, contract vehicles, and GSA schedules.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, CMMC, and NIST 800-53.
  • Track record of leading Solutions Engineers through complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
  • Strong executive presence and comfort presenting to CIOs, CISOs, and mission owners.
  • Proven effective leadership of a technical team with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
  • Experience managing with empathy, patience, inclusiveness, and discretion around sensitive employee matters.
  • Demonstrated mentorship of fellow technologists and embodiment of Tanium’s core values.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into tactical execution and hold teams accountable using data.
  • Strong communication, emotional intelligence, judgment, and influencing skills.
