Description

  • Build out a hub-and-spoke transportation network, including facilities, personnel, and processes.
  • Supervise local FC delivery management, drivers, fleet operations, transportation software, and inter-departmental transfer shuttles.
  • Train drivers and operations staff on compliance standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to improve vehicle reliability and longevity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, company policies, certifications, and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate audit and inspection records, including maintenance logs, insurance documents, and vehicle registrations.
  • Develop network design requirements that improve capacity, efficiency, and cost in the transportation network.
  • Define metrics to measure transportation performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve data or process variances by escalating issues to the appropriate owners and following through to resolution.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to support high customer satisfaction and optimize vendor contracts for market-standard pricing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 7-10 years of transportation industry experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of supply chain and logistics concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, communication, multitasking, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with routing software, telematics, and fleet management.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and reporting.
  • Ability to travel as needed to driver-facing facilities for hiring, training, and coaching.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in transportation network design or operational leadership is a plus.
