Description

  • Lead growth of the customer base and revenue in the education and government sectors, including colleges, universities, and federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with new and existing customers to generate additional revenue streams.
  • Pursue leads and manage them through the full sales cycle.
  • Monitor market trends, research opportunities, and evaluate competitor strategies to inform sales strategy.
  • Identify opportunities through networking, cold calling, tradeshows, conferences, and other market research activities.
  • Plan and execute integration with key trade services platforms to support customer growth and share of wallet.
  • Engage customers regularly by phone and email to understand needs, answer questions, and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to compile reports, manage sales records, and maintain accurate prospect lists.
  • Maintain cross-functional partnerships with Customer Experience, IT, Product Management, Customer Service, Merchandising, and Operations.
  • Manage the bid process end-to-end and ensure contract compliance in education and government sectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Account Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with academic institutions and/or government organizations, such as co-ops and GPOs.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and build strong relationships.
  • Strong critical and creative thinking skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet-driven analysis and data manipulation.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and stay flexible in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Preferred: product knowledge in plumbing, heating/HVAC, and electrical trades.
  • Preferred: experience using CRM software such as Salesforce to track outreach and sales leads.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship provided.

  • Base salary of $75,000-$95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
