Description

Own the end-to-end roadmap for platform efficiency and COGS reduction.
Identify, prioritize, and execute initiatives that reduce cost-to-serve without harming customer experience or SLAs.
Collaborate with Core Platform and SRE teams to optimize resource allocation across Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS services.
Partner with FinOps to use cost observability dashboards and infrastructure data to find cost hotspots and drive architectural improvements.
Translate technical bottlenecks into actionable PRDs and define success criteria for efficiency projects.
Coordinate with Finance, UX, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver cost-optimized solutions aligned to business goals.
Communicate the financial impact of technical debt and infrastructure modernization to executive stakeholders.
Work with cloud providers and third-party vendors to optimize licensing, reserved instances, and usage-based billing models.
Own product strategy focused on customer margins across multiple Sumo Logic revenue products.

Requirements

5+ years of product management experience, ideally in a technical platform role within an enterprise SaaS environment.
Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and microservices.
Experience with AWS cost structures and FinOps principles is a major plus.
Experience with pricing, units of measure, and cost modeling.
Power-user level experience with data analytics tools and a strong comfort with cost and financial analysis.
Proven ability to break high-level efficiency goals into testable hypotheses and delivered features.
Ability to explain ROI and technical tradeoffs clearly to both non-technical stakeholders and engineers.
Experience in log analytics, observability, or cybersecurity is preferred.
Experience with big data technologies such as Lucene, Parquet, or Spark is nice to have.
Familiarity with billing and provisioning systems such as Zuora is nice to have.
Understanding of OpenTelemetry (OTel) and its impact on data pipeline efficiency is nice to have.
