Description

  • Communicate directly with external developers to help them build applications against Stripe’s infrastructure across a variety of programming languages and platforms.
  • Build, reproduce, and debug integrations to unblock developers and resolve technical issues across email, ticketing systems, community forums, and real-time chat (e.g., Slack/Discord).
  • Develop and maintain internal and external documentation, examples, integration demos, and code snippets that demonstrate Stripe usage patterns.
  • Identify developer friction points and collaborate with Stripe engineering teams by participating in planning sessions, design reviews, and development meetings to improve products.
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal support tooling for TSE and broader Stripe Support (examples: retrieval-augmented-generation LLM-based Copilot tools, Invoice Explainer Admin tool).
  • Act as an internal developer advocate and educational resource by assembling and delivering training for non-developers and responding to product integration questions in real time.
  • Quickly familiarize yourself with customers’ codebases and integration setups to provide tailored guidance and remediation.
  • Contribute to community platforms (e.g., StackOverflow) and other public-facing channels to support and grow the developer user base.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of full-stack software development experience building web or mobile applications that deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Direct experience explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to read and write clean code in multiple programming languages and to understand and work with poorly written code.
  • Comfort working with autonomy and limited supervision, and ability to learn new languages and frameworks as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to support users during your local working hours in British Columbia, which may occasionally include weekend coverage for critical infrastructure.
  • This role is remote but requires candidates to be located in British Columbia.
  • Experience developing documentation, code examples, demos, and support tooling (including familiarity with internal tooling workflows or RAG/LLM-based tools is a plus).
  • Preferred: experience teaching or coaching developers, strong written communication skills, and a degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or a related analytical field.
