Description

  • Conduct technical discovery and business analysis to understand customer operations, industry dynamics, and competitive context.
  • Lead strategic customer engagements and discovery sessions to align proposed solutions with business priorities.
  • Design technically sound solution architectures and present them through executive briefings, readouts, presentations, and demonstrations.
  • Identify expansion opportunities across existing accounts, including new markets, business units, capabilities, and local payment methods.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by capturing field insights and bringing them to product and engineering teams.
  • Partner with sales as the technical counterpart to design robust solutions for prospective and existing users.
  • Craft and deliver technical demonstrations that show how Stripe solves specific business problems and can be customized for customer needs.
  • Develop future-state roadmaps that account for complex third-party integrations and customer transformation goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role such as sales engineer, pre-sales solution consultant, or solutions architect at a global software enterprise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin for working with Southeast Asia and China-based merchants.
  • Executive engagement skills with the ability to build credibility and strong relationships with key decision makers.
  • Effective group facilitation skills and confidence leading customer meetings and guiding strategic discussions.
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures.
  • Background writing code in one or more of Stripe’s primary deployment languages, such as Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, or Go, is a plus.
  • Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for ownership and driving change in an evolving environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed for business.
  • Preferred experience in payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or fintech.
  • Preferred prior consulting experience.
  • Preferred experience at a growth-stage internet or software company.
