Description

Apply a scientific approach to underwriting new customer segments by evaluating external data sources and advanced modeling methods.
Lead machine learning operations and infrastructure initiatives that expand modeling capacity and data ingestion.
Design and implement the end-to-end credit modeling stack, including model development, deployment, and production integration.
Use data science techniques to work with messy datasets and turn new data sources into actionable modeling inputs.
Identify and execute improvements to credit policy that positively impact customers and portfolio performance.
Support updates to existing models and troubleshoot issues in a real-time production environment.
Operate within the requirements of a regulated bank while balancing innovation, safety, soundness, and compliance.

Requirements

8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with 3+ years of experience.
Experience developing and deploying machine learning and statistical models in production environments.
Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering.
Strong quantitative intuition and data visualization skills.
Proven ability to conduct sophisticated ad-hoc and exploratory analysis.
Full-stack proficiency preferred, including work across data pipelines and production-grade software architecture.
Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders.
Pragmatic problem-solving approach with the ability to choose the right tool for the situation.
Experience with tree-based models and gradient boosting is helpful but not required.
Demonstrated track record of scientific research or an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
