Description

  • Own roadmap delivery with Product and FinTech, including measurement, weekly reporting, and execution improvement.
  • Lead team leads and engineers through clear expectations, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Establish distributed ownership so engineers take work from specification through production.
  • Own releases, alerting, on-call operations, incident reviews, uptime, recovery, deployment, and release-quality targets.
  • Run delivery and specification reviews while ensuring agreed architecture and plans are implemented.
  • Manage offshore partner-team priorities, quality, development, and collaboration.
  • Lead engineering hiring and onboarding while maintaining the organization’s standards.
  • Standardize effective engineering practices, tooling, and infrastructure across teams.
  • Remain a player-coach by writing code weekly and building with AI coding agents alongside engineers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering management experience, including management of managers or team leads.
  • Experience leading an engineering organization of 15+ engineers, including offshore partner teams.
  • Experience owning delivery for a product company and improving gaps between commitments and shipped work.
  • Experience owning production operations, including releases, alerting, on-call, and incident reviews.
  • Ability to design effective operating cadences, metrics, and reviews while removing unnecessary process.
  • Demonstrated success coaching team leads into effective engineering leaders.
  • Engineering background with current coding experience, code-review and technical-design judgment, and credibility with engineers.
  • Hands-on experience using and evaluating AI coding agents and helping teams adopt them.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to work Eastern Time hours.
  • Preferred: experience with vertical SaaS, home services, payments or lending, SOC 2/PCI DSS, legacy modernization, trunk-based development, feature flags, TypeScript, Node, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, or investor-backed growth companies.
