Description

  • Own one or more integration domains end-to-end, including roadmap, architecture decisions, trade-offs, and delivery.
  • Design and deliver microservice-based integration solutions across REST, GraphQL, streaming APIs, MCP, and LLM-powered automation.
  • Make architectural decisions on system boundaries, API contracts, reliability targets, and build-versus-buy choices.
  • Provide technical mentorship through design reviews, pairing sessions, and code reviews.
  • Set technical direction and promote engineering rigor in quality, documentation, secure coding, and distributed systems practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teammates to grow their ability to independently own projects and make strong design decisions.
  • Use AI tools and automation to accelerate design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident triage workflows.
  • Build or improve internal tooling that increases team efficiency and adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Deliver robust, production-grade integrations that scale to support a growing customer base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of backend software development experience.
  • 3+ years in a Staff-level or tech lead role with domain ownership or team leadership.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
  • Strong experience building and operating microservices in production.
  • Deep experience with API design and integration, including REST, GraphQL, streaming, LLM APIs, and embedding services.
  • Experience with secure API patterns such as OAuth, API keys, and rate limiting.
  • Strong background in distributed systems, message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, or orchestration frameworks such as Celery or Airflow.
  • Regular, production use of AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT to accelerate engineering workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to judge when AI output is trustworthy and when human expertise is needed.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and improving team technical capability.
  • Excellent system design, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Preferred: experience in cybersecurity domains such as SOAR, EDR, SIEM, or XDR.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with large-scale data processing, real-time pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Preferred: experience with AI-native integration patterns such as MCP, function calling, or agent orchestration frameworks.
