Description

  • Own the parser framework by defining reusable primitives, improving performance, and raising reliability and testability.
  • Design schema mapping, normalization, and parsing decisions for ambiguous, malformed, and vendor-specific data.
  • Develop and maintain parsing and normalization components for large volumes of security data from many sources.
  • Drive high-impact parser integrations end-to-end and establish patterns for other engineers to follow.
  • Partner with detection, data, and integration teams to ensure parsed data supports downstream use cases.
  • Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate parser development, test generation, and code review.
  • Automate repetitive parser tasks such as regression testing, schema diffing, and sample ingestion.
  • Help integrate AI tools into team workflows and measure productivity gains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on data parsing, integration, or log processing.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Ruby, or C++.
  • Deep familiarity with common log formats and data structures, including JSON, XML, CSV, syslog, key-value, and unstructured text.
  • Strong command of regular expressions and other pattern-matching techniques.
  • Solid understanding of data normalization, schema design, and transformation principles.
  • Experience integrating with APIs, web services, and streaming data sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT to accelerate engineering workflows in production work.
  • Working understanding of cybersecurity concepts and the kinds of data security tools emit.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and platforms such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM, and cloud security services.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their logging services.
  • Experience with big data and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, or similar.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience using LLMs for log analysis, parser generation, or schema inference, or building internal AI tooling for data engineering workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI-native integration patterns such as MCP, function calling, or agent frameworks.
