Description

  • Contribute to architecture, design, and technical decision-making across the full application stack, including front end, back end, CMS, and AWS infrastructure.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performing APIs for consumer-facing applications.
  • Oversee Contentful CMS content modeling and editorial workflow optimization.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, monitoring, observability, and overall system reliability.
  • Ensure AWS security, governance, and cloud infrastructure best practices, including least-privilege access, private S3 patterns, and secrets management.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and scalable design patterns.
  • Provide technical mentorship, supervision, and performance guidance to engineers.
  • Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support sprint planning, technical estimation, roadmap development, and hiring efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with a clear back-end focus and architectural responsibility.
  • Experience mentoring software engineers.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PHP, with strong Node.js experience preferably using NestJS.
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs in distributed or microservices architectures.
  • Experience with JWT/OIDC authentication, including Auth0 or equivalent, and passport-jwt/JWKS patterns.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, multi-environment deployments, and operational MongoDB preferred.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration on AWS ECS, including task definitions, logging, and ECR.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services such as Amplify, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, S3, EFS, CloudWatch, X-Ray, IAM, and VPC.
  • Experience building cloud-native automation with IaC tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub OIDC for secure AWS deployments.
  • Observability and production operations experience with logs, metrics, alarms, distributed tracing, and troubleshooting.
  • Security best practices experience including IAM least privilege, private S3 patterns, and secrets management.
  • Testing and quality discipline across unit, integration, and e2e layers using Jest, plus strong linting and formatting standards.
  • Experience integrating headless CMS platforms with modern front-end frameworks.
  • Enthusiasm for Stand Together’s vision and principled approach, along with a commitment to its culture and values.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, and developing engineers, including feedback, goal-setting, and work prioritization, is preferred.
  • Experience with Contentful CMS, Drupal, and WordPress in headless or hybrid configurations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Turborepo, pnpm, monorepo patterns, Storybook, and design systems is preferred.
  • Zod/schema-first validation and OpenAPI generation tooling experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with CloudPosse Terraform modules and Terragrunt layout patterns is preferred.
  • Performance tuning for Node.js applications and MongoDB, including caching strategy design, is preferred.
  • Experience with EFS for stateful containers and mounting/permission management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Checkov, Terraform security scanning, and Terraform CI checks is preferred.
