Description

  • Create, update, and maintain user guides, release notes, and other technical documentation for SpryPoint’s products.
  • Produce accurate release notes on a bi-weekly sprint schedule and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and customer support teams to gather product information.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content for end users with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Review and edit documentation created by other team members for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with SpryPoint’s style, branding guidelines, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain documentation templates, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Collect and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to improve documentation quality and relevance.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in a software or technology environment.
  • Experience with Customer Information Systems, Work and Asset Management, or Customer Self-Serve applications is beneficial.
  • Experience in the utilities industry is helpful but not required.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and the ability to quickly comprehend technical concepts.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Google Docs, Snagit, Microsoft Word, or similar software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable, or equivalent real-world experience in technical writing for a software company.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and documentation in an Agile environment is preferred.
  • Basic graphic design skills or experience with visual/diagram tools is a nice-to-have.
