Description

  • Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to a team of software engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative environment that supports knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define and prioritize user stories and backlog items.
  • Serve as the Agile advocate and coach, and facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Monitor team progress, remove obstacles, and support successful sprint delivery.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, User Experience Design, Customer Success, Sales, and Service Delivery teams.
  • Support clients and incidents with the Customer Success team, lead support developers, and participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
  • Plan, prioritize, and allocate tasks to ensure efficient use of resources and timely delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance on architecture decisions, code reviews, problem-solving, and software quality standards.
  • Identify skill gaps and create opportunities for training, learning, and development within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with a focus on Java backend web applications.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
  • Proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of backend development concepts such as RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Strong software design, object-oriented programming, and clean code practices; ability to write maintainable, testable code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Interest in expanding knowledge and applying it to solve industry problems.
  • Experience balancing scalability, performance, and security considerations.
  • Background in cross-functional collaboration is preferred.
