Description

  • Build robust, well-designed software that solves complex engineering problems.
  • Test, review, and deploy code rapidly in a high-release-frequency environment.
  • Research, learn, and share new techniques to improve engineering solutions and practices.
  • Develop internal tools and productivity practices for the engineering team.
  • Own projects end to end, from system design through implementation and delivery.
  • Analyze business problems and help determine the right solution, not just implement requirements.
  • Collaborate with ML teams to embed AI into the product.
  • Mentor senior engineers and help shape technical culture and execution standards.
  • Contribute to long-term technical strategy while remaining hands-on with critical implementations.
  • Work on internal systems supporting 9,000+ monthly expert calls and frontend experiences used by tens of thousands of users.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience building highly reliable, mission-critical software.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithmic complexity, asynchronicity, and distributed computing.
  • Good knowledge of design and architecture concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes and software testing.
  • Experience shipping pragmatic, high-quality solutions with a sense of urgency.
  • Track record of technical leadership across teams without formal people management.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving clarity where needed.
  • Ability and desire to work in an open, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Vue.js, and React.
  • Experience in a full-stack or platform-focused engineering environment is preferred.
