Description

  • Design, build, and evolve mobile experiences across Spotify’s consumer surfaces.
  • Contribute to the architecture and development of reusable mobile foundations, frameworks, and platform capabilities.
  • Support technical initiatives that improve scalability, performance, reliability, and developer experience across the Spotify app.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and platform teams to shape product direction and technical strategy.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing practices, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to experimentation and prototyping for future-facing content and listening experiences.
  • Explore modern engineering workflows, including AI-assisted development tools and emerging mobile technologies.
  • Balance short-term product needs with long-term platform sustainability and technical health.
  • Learn, grow, and contribute to Spotify’s engineering culture through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Ability to build maintainable, scalable, reusable, and well-tested software systems.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers and colleagues across disciplines.
  • Strong focus on code quality, testing, documentation, and long-term maintainability.
  • Curiosity, ownership, and willingness to step outside your immediate area of expertise when needed.
  • Interest in modern development tooling, including AI-assisted coding solutions.
  • Growth mindset and a desire to learn, improve systems, products, and team practices.
  • Familiarity with SQL, analytics systems, or data engineering concepts is a plus.
  • Ability to work within the EMEA region, excluding France, and collaborate in Central European and GMT time zones.
