Description

  • Partner with account executives during opportunity and prospect development as the technical and security subject matter expert.
  • Advise customers on alternative support approaches for Oracle-based environments and related software stacks.
  • Translate technical challenges into business solutions and outcomes for prospects and partners.
  • Develop technical solutions and prepare initial cost estimates and support spend prediction models.
  • Address technical concerns throughout the sales cycle for third-party support and managed services pursuits.
  • Work across internal teams and global time zones to support solution development under tight deadlines.
  • Own and improve processes and frameworks for the South African region with minimal supervision.
  • Lead and contribute to RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses to ensure high-quality, timely submissions.
  • Create supporting collateral such as PowerPoint slides, whitepapers, and data analysis when messaging gaps are identified.
  • Build trusted relationships with partners, prospects, customers, and internal sales teams across regions.

Requirements

  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as consultant, solutions engineer, solutions architect, DBA, Apps DBA, or technical-functional architect.
  • 10+ years of experience in Oracle Database, WebLogic, and EBS architecture and administration, including patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Thorough understanding of Oracle licensing and associated metrics.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and information security concepts, including those specific to Oracle technologies.
  • Experience working on cloud platforms such as AWS, OCI, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with customers to identify the best solution.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and soft skills with the ability to speak to technical and non-technical audiences, including CxO level stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Oracle competitive and complementary products.
  • Exposure to SAP or VMware is a bonus.
