Description

  • Own major in-app features from design collaboration through delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to product and technical decisions.
  • Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code collaboration.
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests effectively.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to improve Android UI/UX beyond the written spec.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Experience contributing to open source Android projects is a bonus.
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS is a bonus.
