Description

  • Own major in-app features and deliver high-quality releases in collaboration with design and product teams.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical and product decisions.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code reviews and collaboration.
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
  • Take ownership of feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
  • Work on new projects that improve the Android user experience and support a growing user base.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Strong drive to improve Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests.
  • Self-driven mindset to improve the app and codebase beyond the written spec.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Open source Android contribution experience (preferred).
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS (preferred).
  • Technologies used include Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Jetpack Navigation, Dagger 2, Room, Custom Views, Canvas & Paint, Jetpack Compose, and JUnit.
