Description

  • Own major in-app features from implementation through delivery, working closely with design to ship high-quality user experiences.
  • Help shape the future direction of the Android team and contribute to technical decisions.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features.
  • Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to define and deliver product work.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code review and technical assistance.
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.
  • Contribute to improving the app and codebase beyond the written specification.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Understanding of testing principles and how to write tests effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
  • Bonus: experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Bonus: experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
